End-of-Life Care Distance Education
This program is designed to help family physicians in Metropolitan Toronto and the York and Simcoe regions to:
- provide better care for dying patients and their families
- enhance their involvement in local and regional palliative care initiatives and programs.
The program combines web-based collaborative knowledge-building, video conferences and face-to-face standardized patient interactions.
Many key issues are covered, such as:
- pain and symptom management
- barriers to providing home care
- communication skills important for dealing with dying patients and their families.
